Some of our members have indicated they are unable to view the video clips
from the new Documentary Adhesive Arachnoiditis – Fighting Back. These
video clips are sent to the Windows Media Player in “streaming video”, and
if your computer is slow, older, or not set to view streaming video
properly you might see part of the clip, then a pause while the “buffer”
replenishes itself before the video continues.
The following
instructions will assist you to download the film clips to your hard drive
for viewing off-line on, your Windows Media Player (or other Multimedia
software you may have to view video).
Our instructions
suggest you download the clip(s) to your desktop so that you will easily
find them once the downloading is complete. If you are an advanced
computer user, you may want to download them to a folder, or sub-directory
of you own choosing, just as long as you know where to locate them later. |

Select which clip you would like to download by
positioning your mouse pointer on the thumbnail
photo of that clip and “Right” click you mouse.

When the pop-up menu opens, position
you mouse
pointer on “Save Target As…”
and “Left click you
mouse
button.

The “File Download” window
will open briefly, and then a “Save As” dialog window
will
appear. Place your mouse pointer on the drop down “Save in:”
field, “LEFT Clicking”
and
choose “Desktop” from the list of choices, “LEFT Clicking” your mouse
again to select it.

Move
your mouse pointer to the lower
right Conner of the “Save As”
dialog window,
and
“LEFT click” “Save”

You
will see the “File Download” Window for a moment, or several minutes
depending upon
your
modem speed, your connection speed, and the speed of your computer. When
we downloaded
these
files with a 56Kbps Modem with a connection speed of 44.4Kbps, the
longest download time
was 3
minutes, the shortest was 15 seconds.

Once the file(s) you have selected have
completed
downloading open your Windows Media Player.

“LEFT click” your mouse pointer on “File”,
then “Open”
(Your Media Player may look different than
ours depending upon which “Skin” is selected)

Select the file you downloaded, in this example it’s the CarRing128.wmv,
then click on the “Open” button.
Or
Just
go to your Desktop and double click on the downloaded file, the Media
Player will open automatically

Click
the "Play" button on the "Windows Media Player" and the file will
begin playing. (Some media
plays start automatically once the file is open.)
Repeat Steps 1 - 9 to download other clips you may wish to view.
